15th and 16th June
Halesworth hosts twin families from Bouchain, France and Eitorf, Germany.
4pm – 6pm on Saturday 15th June there will be an open viewing of an art display at Holton Village Hall.
Art work will be provided by children from schools in the Halesworth area, Bouchain and Eitorf. Please do come along to support this community based and inclusive event.
(Art work will also remain on display in the hall during the Classic Car Day on Sunday 16th June, by kind permission of the Holton Village Hall Committee).
An evening event for members of the Twinning Society will be held on the 15th, with Sunday 16th to be spent at leisure with families or exploring the local area.
Planting of silver birch trees to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of twinning with Eitorf will take place over the weekend, date and time to be agreed.
We are always looking for new members to join the Society (it’s free!), to host visitors and to help out at events. Please do contact us for further details.
7th and 8th September
Eitorf Surprise Event for the silver anniversary of Twinning.
We’re going. Are you?
7th and 8th December
Visit to Bouchain to attend their Marché de Noel.
This is our main fundraising activity of the year, where we have a stall selling Christmas cakes, marmalade, hot toddies and whisky mac. A real opportunity to meet the locals and be part of the community.
Stay en famille, usually with a group meal on the Saturday evening and enjoy a traditional Christmas market on the Sunday. We do ask if you can help with the stall – it’s great for your French trying to explain what a whisky mac is!!
